Eric Todd, 65, jailed for abusing girls 45 years ago

A 65-year-old man from Glasgow has been jailed for seven years for sexually abusing two young girls more than 45 years ago.

Eric Todd was convicted of raping and sexually abusing one girl from the age of eight to 14, and sexually abusing another girl from the age of 12 to 13.

The High Court in Glasgow heard Todd committed the offences between 1959 and 1965 at addresses in the city.

Todd, from the Blairdardie area, was also put on the sex offenders register.

Temporary judge Bill Dunlop said: "Whatever your behaviour may have been over the last 40 odd years the picture presented by the evidence was ghastly and serious sexual behaviour towards young girls.

"You used and abused them for your own perverted gratification."
