Man in court over alleged abuse of Rangers players

A man has appeared in court charged with racially abusing Rangers players Kyle Bartley and Maurice Edu online.

Michael Convery, from Govan, Glasgow, is charged with making comments on a social networking site on 14 January.

He is said to have acted in a racially aggravated manner which caused or was intended to cause alarm and distress by uttering racist remarks and threats.

Mr Convery appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court. He made no plea or declaration and was granted bail.
