Man in court over death of Gary Vance in Glasgow

A 35-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering a man at a tower block in Glasgow.

Gary Vance, 42, died in hospital after being injured at Dundasvale Court, in the Cowcaddens area, at about 00.40 on Tuesday.

John Monaghan, from the Drumchapel area of the city, was charged with Mr Vance's murder and with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

He appeared at the city's sheriff court where the case was adjourned.

Mr Monaghan was remanded in custody and is due to return to court on 26 January.
