Fraud trial of Barry and Jacqueline Hughes set for August
Boxing promoter Barry Hughes and his wife Jacqueline are to go on trial for alleged mortgage fraud in August.
Mr Hughes, 33, and his wife, 36, from Renfrewshire, deny lying about income on mortgage applications.
They also deny several charges under the Proceeds of Crime Act of profiting from the sale of the properties.
The couple were due to go on trial next month. The new trial date was set during a procedural hearing on Tuesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Advocate Mark Moir, defending Mr Hughes, made the motion to adjourn.
Sheriff Charles McFarlane QC granted the adjournment and continued the case until a later date.
