Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Hamilton in South Lanarkshire almost a month ago have been interviewing drivers and pedestrians near where he was found.

Alan Kopp, 30, was discovered with stab wounds at a house in Kelvin Gardens in the Hillhouse area of the town on 9 January.

He was taken to Hairmyres Hospital but died a short time later.

Police said the latest operation had provided fresh lines of inquiry.

Between 14:30 and 16:30 officers spoke to members of the public who use the area on a regular basis in an effort to jog their memories.

Det Chf Insp John McDonald of Strathclyde Police's major investigation team said: "I'm aware there has been a lot of speculation surrounding Mr Kopp's murder among the local community and I firmly believe that there are people living in the area who have key information that is vital to my investigation.

"I would urge those people to contact the police. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Alan in the Kelvin Gardens area on the Monday afternoon.

"Today's operation has provided a number of additional lines of inquiry, each of these will be followed up by officers and detectives from the inquiry team."
