Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering a man who was shot in an East Renfrewshire village.

John Finnegan, 48, died in hospital after being shot in Bank Street, Neilston, on 27 October last year.

Francis Coates, 35, and 32-year-old James McCarron appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.

Neither man made any plea to the charge and both were remanded in custody before a further court appearance later this month.
