Teenagers charged over fire at Maryhill flats
Two teenagers have been charged in connection with a fire at a high-rise block of flats in Glasgow on Tuesday.
Emergency services spent about four hours evacuating properties in Wyndford Road, in the Maryhill area of the city, when the fire broke out at about 02:40.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court, Thamil Lahouaoui, 19, was charged with wilful fire raising and culpable and reckless conduct.
Nabil Chakir, 19, was also charged with culpable and reckless conduct.
Both men, who were listed as having no fixed abode, made no plea or declaration at the private hearing.
They were remanded in custody until their next appearance, which is expected to be next week.
A man had to be rescued from a balcony on the 14th floor of the building and three people were given precautionary check-ups by ambulance crews at the scene.
