CCTV image released in hunt for Glasgow armed raider
Police hunting a robber who targeted an insurance company in the Shawlands area of Glasgow have released CCTV footage.
Armed police were called to Jim Blair Insurance, an agent for Santander bank, after a man threatened staff with what appeared to be a firearm on Tuesday.
The man fled the building with a four-figure sum of cash.
Staff members were left "badly shaken" but were not injured. No firearm was discharged. Officers said they want to talk to a man captured on CCTV images.
The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 10in and aged in his late 40s or early 50s.
He was wearing an olive green or grey tammy hat, a black three-quarter length jacket, blue denims and black boots. He had a Glasgow accent.
He made off on foot up Kilmarnock Road towards Shawlands Cross.
Det Con Mark Henry said: "This has been a very frightening experience for the staff within the insurance company. At the time of the incident there would have been a lot of people out and about.
"I would appeal to them to get in touch with us. It's possible they noticed the suspect either prior to or following the robbery and this information may prove vital to the investigation and in helping officers trace the man responsible."
