Glasgow street attack treated as attempted murder

Police are treating an attack on a teenager in a Glasgow street as attempted murder.

The 19-year-old man was chased past the Swallow Hotel and onto Paisley Road West before being seriously assaulted at about 20:30 on Sunday, 4 March.

Two men are believed to have taken part in the attack.

Members of the public called the emergency services and the injured man was taken to the Southern General Hospital.

Strathclyde Police said he remains in a serious condition.

Both suspects are described as Scottish, white, slim and aged between 18 and 24.

The first suspect was wearing a grey hooded top, dark trousers and dark trainers. The second suspect was wearing dark trousers and dark trainers.

Det Con Kenny Johnston said the area is well covered by CCTV and officers are checking all available footage.

He added: "Paisley Road West is a busy area and I am sure there would have been passers-by who either witnessed the assault or saw where the suspects came from."
