Homes destroyed in Glasgow building blaze

Three homes are thought to have been destroyed in a fire inside a sandstone building in Glasgow.

Twenty firefighters tackled the blaze, which started in the roofspace of the Albert Road structure, at about 18:30 on Thursday.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said no one had been injured.

Glasgow City Council said Cathcart Road had to be closed in both directions, between Dixon Avenue and Queen Mary Avenue.

It is understood only three of the four flats were occupied at the time, however, no one had to be rescued.

A fire investigation team will carry out an inquiry into the cause of the blaze.
