Receivers appointed at R&M Deluxe Upholstery

An upholstery firm which employed 45 staff throughout Scotland has been placed in receivership.

R&M Deluxe Upholstery Limited and R&M Deluxe Holdings Limited are now under the control of joint receivers Gary Fraser and Blair Nimmo of KPMG.

The group, which trades as Instyle Furniture, has stores at Hillington, Glasgow, and in Uddingston.

Other sites in Aberdeen and Tollcross, Glasgow, ceased trading recently with the loss of six jobs.

Instyle Furniture was established in 1983 and its main business is making and selling sofas and chairs.

Joint administrator Mr Nimmo said: "R&M Deluxe Group has an excellent reputation for quality within the Scottish furniture sector, but has unfortunately experienced challenging trading conditions in recent years.

"The combination of the business' reputation, strong brand name and property assets presents a very good opportunity for prospective buyers.

"The joint receivers are currently assessing the financial position of the group and are taking steps to market and sell the business as a going concern."
