'Wartime bomb' in Clydebank was false alarm

The discovery of what was thought to be a wartime bomb during building work in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, was a false alarm, it has emerged.

Police said the discovery was made near Cochno Road on Tuesday morning.

The surrounding area was evacuated and traffic diversions were put in place.

Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene. When the item was examined, it was found not to be an explosive device.
