Norovirus closes four wards at Royal Alexandra Hospital

Four wards at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley have been closed to new patients following an outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said 26 patients were showing symptoms of what is believed to be Norovirus. They are not giving cause for concern.

The authority said strict infection control procedures were in place.

Anyone who has experienced symptoms of Norovirus within the last 48 hours is asked not to visit the hospital.
