Anthony McGinley charged with murdering Darren Gavan in Castlemilk

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a young father who was stabbed on a Glasgow street.

Anthony McGinley, 27, is alleged to have assaulted and murdered Darren Gavan following an altercation at Tormusk Street, Castlemilk, on 23 May.

The 25-year-old died on his way to hospital.

Mr McGinley, who is from Castlemilk, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody when he appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
