The body of a 60-year-old man has been found in the Crinan Canal in Argyll.

The remains were discovered by the crew of a yacht passing through the canal at Ardrishaig at about 11:15 on Thursday.

The fire service recovered the body from the water after it was taken to the canal bank by the yacht's crew and two police officers.

Strathclyde Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances and a post mortem examination would be held to establish how the man died.
