Cyclist, 13, in hospital after Port Glasgow bus collision

A 13-year-old boy has suffered serious head injuries after a collision with a bus while riding his bike in Port Glasgow on Saturday night.

The boy was found badly injured on Bardrainney Avenue, at its junction with Moss Road, at about 20:30.

He had been involved in a collision with a single decker bus.

The young cyclist was initially taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital but was later transferred to Glasgow's Southern General, in a serious condition.

Strathclyde Police said an investigation was under way to establish the cause of the crash. The force appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
