Police appeal over man's death near Dunoon

Police are appealing for information after a man was found dead in Argyll.

The body of the 46-year-old man was discovered on the Strachur to Glenbranter Road, near Dunoon, at 10:45.

He is described as being 5ft 8in tall, with a stocky build, grey/black hair and beard.

It is believed that the man was last seen between 10:15 and 10:30 in the petrol station in Strachur.

The petrol station is adjacent to the A815, Strachur to Dunoon Road.

The man was wearing a grey/green jacket and was carrying a white carrier bag at the time.

It is understood he is a Polish national who had only been in Dunoon for a few days.

Det Insp Douglas Wilson said: "A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death and we are treating it as unexplained at this time.

"We are trying to piece together this man's movements prior to his death and would like to speak to anyone who has seen him since leaving the petrol station around 10:30 this morning."
