Overhead problems hit rail line

Train services on the West Coast Main Line between Glasgow/Edinburgh and Carlisle have been suspended due to overhead wire problems.

Virgin Trains announced at 20:34 that services in Scotland would be suspended until further notice due to the disruption near Carstairs in South Lanarkshire.

The First TransPennine Express service is also affected by the problems.

Replacement buses were being organised by train operators.
