Teenager held over Scout hall fire in Shotts

A teenager has been arrested in connection with a fire that destroyed a Scout hall in North Lanarkshire.

Strathclyde Police said the blaze broke out at the hall in Benhar Road, Shotts, at about 20:00 on Friday.

The fire completely destroyed the roof of the hall, causing more than £10,000 of damage.

Police said a 16-year-old boy had been arrested in connection with the blaze. The hall is the base for the 3rd Shotts Scout troop.
