Firefighters hurt tackling blaze at former Keil School

Five firefighters were injured by a ruptured hose while tackling a blaze at a former school in West Dunbartonshire, it has emerged.

The incident happened during operations to contain a fire at the former Keil School in Dumbarton on Thursday.

Two of the firefighters were taken to hospital and later released. The three others sustained superficial injuries and were able to continue working.

An investigation is under way into the cause of the fire.
