Woman dies and two others injured in two-car crash

A 69-year-old woman has died and two other women have been injured in a two-car crash in East Renfrewshire.

The incident took place at about 15:40 on Thursday on the A736 Lochlibo to Neilston road.

The 69-year-old woman had been driving a Honda which was involved in a collision with a Peugeot car.

Its 61-year-old driver and her 71-year-old passenger were said to be in a "stable" condition in Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, to come forward.

The accident resulted in the temporary closure of the A736 between the Station Brae junction and Neilston Road.
