Glasgow flats fall boy named as Caleb Wallace

Police have named a young boy who died after falling from a window of a block of flats in Glasgow.

Four-year-old Caleb Wallace fell from an upper storey window of the building in St Andrew's Drive in the Pollokshields area of the city.

The emergency services were called to the scene at about 10:20 on Friday.

Inquiries into the boy's death are continuing and police said a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Tributes to the four-year-old, including flowers and a teddy bear, have been laid at the scene.

Scottish Conservative councillor for the area, David Meikle, said he understands the flats are due for demolition.

He said he hoped a full investigation would establish what happened.

He added: "I'm shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic death of a young boy falling from a block of flats in Pollokshields.

"My thoughts go out to the family who have lost a child.

"There needs to be a full investigation into this incident so we can get to the bottom of what happened and ensure nothing like this happens again."
