Three people rescued from flat fire in Paisley

Three people have been rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out at a block of flats in Renfrewshire.

Crews were called to the four-storey tenement block in Lang Street, Paisley, just after midnight.

Firefighters used a ladder to rescue two men and a woman from the third floor flat. They were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
