Three men sought after woman raped near Glasgow's Queen's Park

Police have launched an investigation after a woman was pulled into a lane and raped near Queen's Park in Glasgow.

The 24-year-old was walking along Pollokshaws Road, near Torrisdale Street, at about 00.30 on Sunday when three men grabbed her.

The suspects were described as Asian, between 30-34 years old and about 5ft 10in and 6ft tall.

Police urged anyone who was in the area, who may have seen or heard anything, to contact them.

Det Ins Diane Caldwell, leading the investigation, said: "A young woman has been left traumatised by this ordeal and it's imperative we trace the three men responsible.

"This type of incident is a rare occurrence and I want to assure people that we are absolutely committed to identifying and arresting whoever is responsible.

"Significant resources will be used to support the inquiry and people can be assured of a visible police presence in the area."

Forensic officers have been carrying out a search of the area. Officers are also reviewing CCTV images and carrying out door-to-door inquiries.
