Coatbridge body find treated as 'suspicious'

Police in Lanarkshire are investigating the death of a 27-year-old man whose body was found in a car park in Coatbridge on Sunday.

The discovery was made by a member of the public at 06:30 in Hozier Street in the Whifflet area, south of the town centre and close to the train station.

Police Scotland said the death was being treated as suspicious.

A post mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Detectives said they were checking CCTV and speaking to local people in an effort to establish the man's last movements.

Police appealed to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area during Saturday evening or through the night to contact them.
