Two hurt after fight on Ayr beach

Ayr beach Officers were called to reports of a disturbance on the busy beach

Two people have been injured after a fight broke out involving a group of youths on Ayr beach.

Police Scotland were called to the seafront shortly after 16:00 after reports of a disturbance involving a number of people.

A police spokeswoman said two people had been taken to hospital and one male had been detained. Inquiries are continuing into the incident.

It is understood the injuries were not life-threatening.
