Fire at bus garage in Salsburgh 'started deliberately'
A major blaze at a garage in North Lanarkshire appears to have been set deliberately, police have said.
Firefighters were called to a coach company premises in Main Street, Salsburgh, at about 02:30.
Buses were on fire and a building was damaged after its roof collapsed. There was no-one in the depot at the time.
Detectives have launched an investigation and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
The Scottish Fire Service said it had to bring in extra resources to tackle the blaze due to its size and the fact there were a number of gas cylinders located on the site.
Det Con Craig Cheyne said: "It is still very early in our investigation but it is apparent that the fire was set deliberately.
"There has been substantial damage to several coaches and the property and it is imperative we trace those responsible.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have any information or knowledge regarding this crime to get in touch with us, even if you think your information may not mean much, let us be the judge of that and please do pass it on."
