Man charged over of James Baillie's death in Hamilton

A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder over a fatal street attack in South Lanarkshire.

James Baillie, 41, and his 64-year-old mother were assaulted after a row with a number of other people in Buchanan Crescent, Hamilton, on 23 July.

He later died in hospital. His mother was also injured in the attack.

Darren Johnstone, 31, from Larkhall, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court. He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
