A man has appeared in court charged with murdering another man by stabbing him on a bus in Glasgow.

Lawrence Patrick is alleged to have killed 59-year-old Alexander Glassford on the M11 bus in Yoker on Monday.

The 46-year-old made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Mr Patrick, from Clydebank, was remanded in custody by Sheriff Stuart Reid and is expected to appear in court again next week.

Mr Glassford was stabbed while the bus was travelling on Dumbarton Road near its junction with Kelso Street.

The 59-year-old, who lived in Knightswood's Archerhill Road, was taken to the Western Infirmary where he died from his injuries a short time later.
