A murder inquiry has been started by police after the discovery of a woman's body in a flat in Glasgow.

Officers were called to the flat in Dobbie's Loan Place at about 23:30 on Wednesday, 30 October. They forced their way in and found the body inside.

The last confirmed sighting of the woman was at Woodside Health Centre on 9 October.

Police have been calling at houses in the area and are gathering and reviewing CCTV images.

Det Ch Insp Colin Carey said: "We are trying to establish a motive for this attack as it appears to have been unprovoked.

"We know that the woman was seen on Wednesday 9 October 2013 and we need to establish her movements from then on, who she saw, where she went, so if anyone has any information please do get in touch with us."
