Serious fire at Indian takeaway in Glasgow

Residents were evacuated from flats in Glasgow after a serious fire broke out at an Indian takeaway.

The fire broke out at the shop on Great Western Road at about 21:15 on Sunday.

Fire crews arrived to find a well-developed fire above a false ceiling at the back of the ground-floor shop.

Flats above were evacuated and firefighters managed to stop the blaze spreading to neighbouring businesses. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
