Man in court over Josephine Steele's death in Glasgow

A 39-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead in her flat, weeks after she was last seen.

Andrew McKinlay is accused of murdering Josephine Steele, 45, whose body was discovered at the flat in Dobbie's Loan Place at about 23:30 on 30 October.

Mr McKinlay, from Glasgow, also faces charges of assault and theft.

He appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court where he made no plea or declaration.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at a later date for full committal.

Police said the last sighting of Ms Steele was at Woodside Health Centre on 9 October.
