Teenage girl hit by car in Clarkston

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after being struck by a car in East Renfrewshire.

The 16-year-old was hit on Fairfield Drive, at its junction with Eaglesham Road, near Williamwood High School, at about 08:25 on Thursday.

Police Scotland said she was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Fairfield Drive remains closed while police investigate the incident.
