Man held over attack at Wemyss Bay station in Inverclyde

A 22-year-old man has been arrested over a serious assault on another man at a train station in Inverclyde.

British Transport Police said the alleged attack happened at Wemyss Bay station at about 20:30 on 21 January.

The 33-year-old victim was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and treated for serious facial injuries. He has since been released.

The man who has been arrested is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court later.
