Man arrested after MSP Humza Yousaf 'racially abused'

Humza Yousaf Humza Yousaf is an SNP MSP and a Scottish government minister

A 30-year-old man has been arrested after an MSP was allegedly racially abused as he sold the Big Issue outside Glasgow's Queen Street train station.

Humza Yousaf was selling the magazine as part of an awareness initiative when the incident happened on 7 February.

The 28-year-old SNP MSP is also Minister for External Affairs and International Development.

The man who was arrested is being held in custody and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
