Cyclists Graeme Obree and Jenny Davis have backed a charity cycling event being held to raise money for Glasgow's Yorkhill Children's charity.

The Yorkhill charity cycle will cover a 75-mile route from Glasgow to Glen Douglas and back again on 22 March.

Money raised from the cycle will help the charity provide support for children and families across Scotland.

Organisers hope the event will become one of the country's biggest charity events.

Former world champion cyclist Obree said: "This is a brilliant way to raise money for this great charity as well as presenting a fantastic opportunity to get out and about on a bike.

"Yorkhill Children's Charity makes a real difference to children from across Scotland who are treated at Yorkhill Hospital.

"As a father myself, I know how special the hospital is to so many families - and the charity plays an instrumental role in making it a world class facility."
