Man 'critical' and two others injured in Ayrshire crash

A 26-year-old man was critically injured and two others needed hospital treatment after a crash in North Ayrshire.

Police said a Ford Ka and a Mini Countryman collided on the A736 at 1955 on Wednesday.

The 26-year old passenger in the Ford was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock, where his condition was described as "critical". The 19-year old driver suffered "serious'" injuries.

A 23-year-old woman driving the Mini was also treated at Crosshouse. She was in a "stable" condition.

Police were asking witnesses to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
