Body found as sunken boat resurfaces off Campbeltown

Human remains found on a boat that resurfaced seven years after sinking off Campbeltown are believed to be that of a missing 64-year-old man.

Brian Thomson was on a fishing trip on Campbeltown Loch, with two others, aged 15 and 43, when the boat went down close to Davaar Island in 2007.

The two who were rescued said they saw Mr Thomson "go down with the boat".

The remains, believed to be those of Mr Thomson, will be forensically tested to establish their identity.
