Hunt for man after woman tied up and robbed at Ibrox home

Police are searching for a man who threatened a 56-year-old woman with a knife in a Glasgow flat before tying her up and robbing her.

Officers said the woman was in her bedroom in Clifford Street, Ibrox, when a man entered through an open window at about 04:20 on Thursday.

After tying her up, he searched the house before untying her and leaving with jewellery and her mobile phone.

Police said the woman was uninjured but "extremely shaken" by the incident.

CCTV studied

Det Con Grant Hay said: "It is totally unacceptable for anyone to be left feeling vulnerable in their own home and the person who carried out this crime must be caught.

"Inquiries are continuing in the local area and officers are studying CCTV images to gather more information on the identity of the man responsible.

"We do however need the help of the local community and ask that anyone who may have seen this man hanging around the area prior to the robbery taking place, or anyone who seen him leave the address around sometime between 05:00 and 05:30, to contact police immediately."

The suspect is described as white, 30-35 years of age, 6ft tall and of slim build.

He had a noticeable red mark on the right side of his face on his cheek, and was wearing dark-coloured denims, a black waist-length jacket, a black hat and black gloves.
