Fishing boat nets 'unexploded mine' in Firth of Clyde

Bomb disposal experts are to examine what may be an unexploded mine after it was picked up by a fishing boat in the Firth of Clyde.

The coastguard was alerted after the boat caught the small device in its nets and brought it in to Gourock Pier.

A spokesman said he believed the find was "old ordnance from the seabed".

Rail and ferry services were disrupted for a time on Tuesday evening but Police Scotland said there was no danger to the public.
