Paisley fire wrecks shop and flats

About 50 firefighters have tackled a blaze at a shop in the centre of Paisley, which also ripped through four flats above the store.

Police Scotland said no-one was injured in the fire at the ShopSmart convenience store in Wellmeadow Street, which broke out at about 07:10.

Officers said 17 people were evacuated from the flats above the shop and had found temporary accommodation.

Police said inquiries into the cause of the fire were continuing.
