Police are concerned for the safety of a vulnerable man who has gone missing from his home in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

Colin McLaren, 63, was last seen by his wife at their home in the town's Barterholm Road at 08:00 on Sunday.

Police said he had recently been dealing with personal issues but it was out of character for him not to be in contact with his family.

Mr McLaren is described as white, about 5ft 10in tall, of stocky build and with grey hair.

It is believed he may be wearing navy coloured jogging trousers with brown leather shoes. It's not known what top he is wearing.

Sgt Paul Harkins, of Police Scotland, said: "Colin's wife and son are extremely concerned for him. We are checking CCTV and contacting friends.

"It's possible he may have headed to the Baillieston area and inquiries are being carried out in that area.

"Colin doesn't appear to have any possessions with him. If anyone has any information about Colin or his whereabouts, please get in touch with police as a matter of urgency."
