Man held over Barrhead attempted murder hit-and-run

A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in East Renfrewshire which police have been treating as attempted murder.

Four people were hurt after a Vauxhall car was driven at them on Crossmill Avenue, Barrhead, at 18.05 on Saturday.

Police previously said the incident followed an altercation with the group.

The 38-year-old man who has been arrested is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.

Three men aged 29, 39 and 48, and a 41-year-old woman, were taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, following the alleged hit-and-run.

The 39-year-old man was said to have sustained serious injuries.
