Man in hospital after van hits shop in Helensburgh

A man has been taken to hospital after the van he was driving struck a lamppost and hit a shop in Helensburgh.

The accident happened on the A814 West Clyde Street in the Argyll town at about 0810.

It is believed the man was taken ill at the wheel. His condition is not known.

The A814 is closed between William Street and John Street as live wires were exposed on the damaged lamppost. Police are diverting traffic and there are delays in both directions.
