Boy, 15, in hospital after being hit by car in Carfin

A teenage boy is in a stable condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Carfin, North Lanarkshire.

The 15-year-old was struck by a red Mitsubishi Colt travelling east on the B7029, Carfin Street, near its junction with Station Road, at about 08:50.

He was taken to Glasgow's Southern General Hospital for treatment for a head injury and fractured wrist. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
