Stephen Cannon jailed for attempted rape of teenage boy
A man who tried to rape a 15-year-old boy has been jailed for four years.
Stephen Cannon, 26, from Dalry, North Ayrshire, attacked the boy in a village in East Ayrshire on 27 April 2013.
He was convicted of the attempted rape of the teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, Cannon, who was described as a "socially isolated" individual, was told that he was being placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
Judge Lady Scott told him: "You have been convicted of the attempted rape of a 15-year-old boy.
"I consider custody is inevitable and you recognise that."
