Police say motorcyclist Alex White died in car collision

Police have released the name of a motorcyclist who died after his bike collided with a car in Glasgow.

Alex White was riding his Honda bike when it collided with a Ford Fiesta car, on Polmadie Road, near Toryglen, at about 05:50 on Thursday.

The 53-year-old, who was from the nearby Croftfoot area, died a short time later in the Victoria Infirmary.

The road was closed for several hours while police carried out inquiries. Officers have appealed for witnesses.
