Street stabbing in Greenock treated as attempted murder
A man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed during an attack by two other men in Greenock, Inverclyde.
Police Scotland said the 32-year-old victim was attacked on Mavis Road, near Wren Road, at about 19:55 on Wednesday.
He then made his was to a friend's house on Wren Road before an ambulance took him to Inverclyde Royal Hospital, where he is being treated for head and abdominal injuries.
Police said they were treating the attack as attempted murder.
Det Insp David Wagstaff said: "At this time we are unaware of the full circumstances of the attack and hope to speak to the injured man soon but we need the help of the public to trace those responsible.
"At that time of night, there is a good chance someone in the surrounding area may have seen or heard the disturbance or noticed anyone acting suspiciously and I would urge them to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
