Driver, 90, and passenger 87, injured in Arran crash

A 90-year-old driver and his 87-year-old passenger have been badly hurt after their car hit a wall on Arran.

The blue Honda Civic crashed at Kingscross Bridge, about a mile north of Whiting Bay, at 17:50 on Wednesday.

Both casualties were taken to Arran Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.

Their conditions are described as serious but stable. Inquiries into the crash are continuing and police have appealed for information.
