Man, 77, and woman, 64, killed in separate road accidents

Two pensioners have died after being struck by vehicles in separate accidents in the west of Scotland.

A 64-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a car on Greystone Avenue, Rutherglen, at about 16:10 on Saturday.

A 77-year-old man also died following a road accident in the Shettleston area of Glasgow.

He was hit by a vehicle on Old Shettleston Road at about 16:30 on Saturday and died at the scene.

Police Scotland have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward.
